Wine Review: This translucent dark red colored Pinot Noir from Drouhin Oregon opens with a shy red cherry, black raspberry, and red plum bouquet with hints of strawberry licorice and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, delicate and a little bit lively. The flavor profile is mild stony minerality, red currant, and tangy red plum blend with notes of maraschino cherry. We also detected hints of allspice, cedar, blueberry, and green tea. The finish is dry and its flavors and fine tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would serve this quaffer of a Pinot with friends. It will not last long. With food pair it with braised rabbit or a lamb burger. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2021 Roserock Pinot Noir is vibrant to the eye, with the clarity of a perfect ruby. A pop of cacao and cola leaps from the glass, evolving into a fresh, pure nose suggesting crushed spices, bright red fruit, and a hint of blackberry bramble. The essence of sweet, dried cherries is complemented by silky tannins and aromatic depth, highlighted by cranberry and plum. It's approachable now, and the light grip upfront hints at its potential longevity in the cellar.
