Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Domaine Drouhin in Oregon opens with a blackberry raspberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of oak and licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, mouthwatering, and savory. The flavor profile is a black cherry and spiced red plum blend with notes of vanilla and red licorice. I also detected some hints of stone dust in the mix. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and dusty mild tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this excellent Pinot with cherry amaretto chicken. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A rich garnet color sets the stage for our 2022 Roserock Pinot Noir. The nose unfolds with memorable aromas of lavender, violet, cherry pie, and home-baked warmth. Layers of flavor, including cassis and cardamom, lend an exotic, spicy note, complemented by the bright, juicy sweetness of marionberry. The tannins provide a firm structure, adding depth and dimension to the wine, leading to a broad finish that lingers on. Enjoy now or hold 8+ years.
