Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Domaine Drouhin in Oregon is very Old World in style. It opens with a fragrant pomegranate and craisin bouquet with hints of dried strawberry and wet stone. On the palate, it is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, mouthwatering and savory. The flavors profile is a blend of pomegranate and slightly tart black plum with notes of oolong tea and graphite. I also detected hints of triple sec, black pepper, and soil. The finish is dry, and its flavors and moderate tannins are nicely extended. I would pair this very good Pinot with lamb lollipops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2022 Dundee Hills Pinot Noir focuses the complexity of the vintage into a radiant, red ruby hue. The nose is a tight and delightful gathering of tart cherries, peony, pomegranate, red fruits, and wood spice, leading to similar flavors on the palate. Balanced and clear acidity points towards the wine’s customary elegance and longevity. Well-rounded and loveable. Santé!
