Wine Review: This very pale straw colored Oregon Chardonnay from Drouhin opens with a light oak and pineapple bouquet with hints of green apple. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and round. The flavor profile is an oak influenced bosc pear and chalky minerality blend with notes of pineapple and chamomile tea. I also detected some hints of saline and butter mixed in. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity are very nicely prolonged. This Chard would pair well with a butternut squash ravioli smothered with a butter cream sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2021 Roserock Chardonnay is defined by balance and precision, two trademark characteristics of this Eola-Amity Hills vineyard. A layered bouquet includes fragrant gardenia and perfumed honeysuckle, while acidity and nuanced stone fruit flavors energize the palate. Subtle minerality adds depth and refinement. It is another classic expression of the site.
