Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Drouhin is Excellent! It opens with a rhubarb and raspberry bouquet with hints of stony minerality and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and savory. The flavor profile is a very tasty black raspberry and light loam blend with notes of cherry-cola and oak. I also detected hints of cinnamon. The finish is dry, and its flavors, gentle acidity, and fine tannins linger nicely. I would pair this Oregon Pinot with Colorado lamb chops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2021 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills is youthful and bright, deftly downplaying the topsy-turvy growing season that ended with gentle, ideal harvest conditions. On the nose, the wine is bursting with black cherry and ripe sour cherry tones, with hints of dried violets and lightly roasted coffee beans. The palate confirms the nose with added notes of fresh raspberry, cranberry, and a decidedly earthy touch. This wine is lovely, vibrant, and elegant now, but I think it will be in a perfect place with 5-12 years of cellaring.
