Wine Review: This white gold colored sparkler from Domaine Carneros opens with tiny streaming bubbles and a complex bouquet featuring a quince, chamomile tea and mild grapefruit along with hints of almond and toasted brioche. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied, frothy and has elevated bright acidity that is managed and not overpowering. The flavor profile is a lemon and brioche blend with nicely integrated stony minerality. We also detected hints of ginger, chamomile tea, baked apple and white pepper. The finish is dry, extended and refreshing. This Sparkler is a very nice summer sipper. We would serve it slightly chilled. With food, we would pair it with scallops or fried oysters. Enjoy – Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of green apple, honey dew melon, pear, and lemon zest with a hint of toasted bread. On the palate, this wine displays notes of macadamia nut, baked apple, and shortbread that complements the notes from the nose.
