Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Domaine Anderson in the Anderson Valley is old school. It opens with a faint old leather and black raspberry bouquet with hints of black cherry and mahogany. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and zesty. The flavor profile is a stony minerality, spiced black plum and clove blend with notes of mild black tea and fig. I also detected hints of dried herbs and blackberry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, mild tannins and acidity are extended. I would pair this Pinot with duck confit. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Inviting and elegant dark ruby color with aromas of bright raspberries and cherries, hints of cranberry and rose petal. On the palate, balanced flavors of cherry, tea, and clove open to reveal elegant and silky texture. Finishes with savory flavors, crushed raspberry, and fresh mushrooms. Pairs with braised meats, dishes such as gorgonzola with mushroom risotto, and a variety of cheeses.
