Wine Review: A nice approachable mid-week Merlot. In the glass it's a clear medium purple, with aromas of blackberry, ripe black cherry, leather, and hot chocolate. On the palate, this wine is straight forward, medium-plus bodied, and moderately acidic, with concentrated fruit. I found flavors of black plum, boysenberry, dark chocolate, and clove. I also noted some integrated oak, cranberry and fresh earth. Grippy but not overbearing tannins last for quite a while in the soft finish. Sweet Italian sausage with pan fried potatoes would be perfect with this bottle. – Mark
Winemaker Notes: From its plush, refined tannins to its rustic undertones, this alluring Merlot offers juicy layers of black cherry, raspberry and plum. On the palate, the flavors are pure and polished, with a mouth-coating texture that carries the wine to a luxurious, fruit-filled finish.
