Wine Review: Long time readers know I really like kitchen sink red blends. This dark red colored offering from Decoy opens with a mild black cherry bouquet with a hint of red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a mild minerality and gentle black cherry blend with hints of oak and a touch of cola. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are a little sticky. I would suggest pairing this quaffer with a juicy Swiss and sauteed mushroom burger. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The exceptional 2013 growing season yielded a spectacular Decoy Red Wine filled with alluring layers of cassis, black cherry and plum, as well as hints of baking spice, black licorice and cocoa. On the palate, this wine is weighty and deliciously complex, with refined tannins adding length and focus to a long, satisfying finish.
