Wine Review: This South African Bordeaux styled red blend is consistently Very Good. The 2008 continues that pattern. It is opaque and almost black colored and opens with a smoky oak and black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry and ripe black currant blend with notes of smoky oak and plum. The finish is dry and its moderate refined tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine is fruit friendly and it would pair well with a thick porterhouse steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Cape's first five-varietal Bordeaux blend, Fusion V has become one of South Africa's most sought-after and iconic bottlings. Stylish and seductive, it flaunts concentrated flavors of black currant, licorice, dark chocolate, and spice. Silky tannins, a seamless structure, and an elegant minerality add to the alluring complexity of this ageworthy, Cab-dominated blend.
