Wine Review: This ruby colored red blend is a very nice representation of what can be accomplished with red wine in South Africa. It opens with a slightly smoky black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, refined, and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry with gentle smoky oak influences. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins stick with you for a while. This blend would be a perfect with a New York strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This sophisticated "Right Bank styled" Bordeaux blend debuted in the 2004 vintage as a complement to De Toren's legendary "Left Bank styled" Fusion V. A higher proportion of Merlot makes this delicious red softer and more approachable in its youth than its blockbuster sibling. It delivers intense, alluring aromas and flavors of plum, dark berries, and spicebox along with classic notes of tobacco, graphite and leather.
