Wine Review: This straw-colored blend from Stellenbosch opens with a bee’s wax and apricot like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and rich. The flavor profile is a delicious toasted coconut and Bartlett pear blend with notes of lemon verbena, oak and nicely integrated minerality with a hint of pineapple at the end. The finish is very nicely extended for a white wine. I would enjoy it with chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The name Maestro pays homage to the Baroque music piped throughout the vineyards and in the cellar at DeMorgenzon. On the nose and palate, there are concentrated orange and yellow stone fruit flavors, along with hints of citrus fruits and spice. Full-bodied, textured and nuanced, floral, honeysuckle and frangipani notes linger on the lengthy finish.
