Wine Review: This light yellow colored blend from South Africa opens with a fragrant and appealing apple, pear and new oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, round and juicy. The flavor profile is a green apple and oak blend with notes of Anjou pear. I also detected hints of minerality and a dash of white pepper towards the end. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. This blend is food friendly and would pair nicely with chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The name Maestro pays homage to the Baroque music piped throughout the vineyards and in the cellar at DeMorgenzon. On the nose and palate there are concentrated orange and yellow stone fruit flavors, along with hints of citrus fruits and spice. The palate is full bodied, textured and nuanced, with lingering floral notes, honeysuckle and frangipani on the finish.
