Wine Review: This translucent and light straw-colored Chardonnay opens with an inviting vanilla crème brulee and Brach’s butterscotch candy bouquet with hints of light lemon and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and bright. The flavor profile is a lemon verbena and mild oak blend with notes of Brach’s butterscotch candy and pineapple. I also detected hints of chalky minerality and banana. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity drifts away nicely. This rich style of Chard would pair well with a triple cream brie and figs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Breezes drifting though the south end of Napa Valley carry marine air in from the San Francisco Bay, which makes the Carneros region a great place for a wine like the 2022 Chardonnay to develop. The cool temperatures allow plenty of sunshine kisses to create a beautiful golden honey color to lure you in, while at the same time maintaining a tangy acidity that makes the wine dance on your tongue. Aromas of key lime and butterscotch, and flavors of citrus, vanilla and subtle minerality round out this very enjoyable wine!
