Wine Review: This very dark garnet colored Merlot from Napa Valley opens with a musty black currant and dark chocolate bouquet with hints of toasted coconut and blackberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and silky. The flavor profile is a toasted coconut and black cherry blend with notes of mint and milk chocolate. I also detected hints of mulberry, currant, and cedar. The finish is dry, and its rich flavors and refined tannins are nicely extended. I would pair this Merlot with braised short ribs. Enjoy – Ken & Dave

Winemaker Notes: The 2019 Merlot is a striking, deep magenta with crimson hues at its edges. Tempting aromas of ripe blackberry and plum, herbs and a hint of chocolate portend a palate that does not disappoint. The black fruit carries into the flavors, along with baking spices that are reminiscent of a fresh baked cherry pie on the windowsill. Dusty minerality delightfully transitions into silky tannins for a smooth, velvety finish.
