Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Davis Bynum opens with a pleasant strawberry licorice and red cherry bouquet with hints of vanilla and cinnamon candy. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and bright. The flavor profile is a red raspberry tea and graphite blend with notes of gentle wild strawberry and oak. I also detected hints of R.C. Cola, dark chocolate, and black plum in the aftertaste. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild fine tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Pinot with a crispy pork carnitas. (Mexican slow cooked pulled pork) Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Cherry, caramel, and cola aromas are followed by dusty oak, butterscotch, and plum flavors. This wine shows balanced acid in the midpalate and a slightly fresher acidity on the finish. Enjoy this Pinot Noir with creamy mushroom risotto, maple-pomegranate glazed pork chops or your favorite assorted cheeses.
