Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Davis Bynum really impressed the Tasting Panel. It opens with a fragrant black currant, oak, black pepper and plum bouquet with hints of raspberry and smoked meat. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a very tasty spiced plum and red cherry blend with notes of vanilla and modest oak. We also detected hints of strawberry, minerality and black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins and flavors last for a very long time. The Panel suggested pairing this Pinot with prime rib or roast pork. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Earthy aromas of leather, strawberry and rhubarb lead to a medium body with notes of strawberry, juicy blue fruit and a hint of spice. The wine ends with a long finish with red fruit, lingering acidity and velvety tannins. Savor this wine with goat cheese crostini topped with wild mushrooms, rosemary crusted lamb shanks or your favorite sharp cheese.
