Wine Review: This Viognier from Darioush was one of the best Viogniers we tried on our recent visit to California. It is pale yellow colored and opens with a fragrant apricot bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very well balanced, and elegant. The flavor profile is a very tasty light apricot with a touch of peach and spice. The finish is dry and refreshing. Pair this wine with 5 fruit stuffed chicken (stuffed with apricot, apple, raisins, pear, & prunes) from Savoury Lane or linguine with clam sauce. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Honeysuckle, jasmine, and citrus fruit aromas leap from the glass, introducing a vibrant and succulent mouthfeel of juicy peach and cantaloupe balanced by the bright acidity of Fuji apple and lemon zest. The 2008 Viognier finishes with lingering notes of white nectarine, nutmeg and vanilla bean.
