Wine Review: This white gold colored Chardonnay from Napa opens with a pear and orange like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and nicely balanced between it acidity and fruit. The flavor profile is a tasty pear with notes of vanilla oak and apple. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This Chard is very food friendly and would pair perfectly with pumpkin ravioli with a brown butter sage sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The first vintage to showcase a small portion of fruit from our Mount Veeder estate, our 2012 offering exudes all the desired aromatics of slow-ripening, cool climate Chardonnay. Bright and intriguing notes of lime blossom, guava and Meyer lemon curd are balanced by flavors of white peach, Gravenstein apple and Asian pear on a generous, complex palate. The wine is composed and restrained, with a lasting finish that reveals delightful hints of toasted hazelnuts, vanilla and creme brulee.
