Wine Review: This pitch black colored Cabernet from Napa opens with a mild black cherry and black currant bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, fruit forward, and savory. The flavor profile is a blend of blackberry and red plum with hints of coffee. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins are subtle and friendly. This Cab would pair well a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Fully developed varietal flavors, admirable concentration and freshness and a fine, textural quality are the hallmarks of the unusually cool, extended 2010 growing season. Vivid blackberry and blueberry fruits are supported by firm, ripe tannins, then finish with savory layers of earth, soy and Herbs de Provence. Higher portions of Mt. Veeder Merlot and Cabernet Franc bring succulence, composure and complexity to the blend, while cellaring will further integrate the spicy oak elements of espresso, nutmeg and sandalwood.
