Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Shiraz and Grenache blend opens with a fragrant blueberry bouquet with faint hints of smoky oak in the background. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a mineral infused black raspberry with notes of oak. I also detected noted of black olive and The finish is dry and its flavors linger and last for quite a while. This wine would pair nicely with a pulled pork sandwich. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The structure and dark, earthy flavor of Shiraz, paired with the fragrance and pure fruit of Grenache are the hallmarks of a great d'Arry's Original. 2013 is no exception, if anything this vintage looks bigger, darker and more concentrated than most with ripples of gritty tannin. The final impression will be an infusion of ferrous and spice notes, a hint of woodsmoke and a generous volume of succulent black and purple fruits opening up with luscious mulberry and plum, laced with earthy notes and cured meats.
