Wine Review: This golden yellow colored Chardonnay from DAOU opens with a lanolin and white peach bouquet with hints of pineapple and mandarin orange. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, fresh, and slightly viscous. The flavor profile is mild grilled pineapple and chalky minerality blend with notes of lemon tea and light oak. We also detected hints of white peach and honeydew melon. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Chard with fish tacos. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This DAOU "Reserve" Chardonnay comes from a special selection of old vines in Edna Valley. Here, in one of California's most esteemed Chardonnay regions, these mature vines produce a wine of remarkable depth and elegance. In the glass, a dazzling golden straw color teases the elegance to come. Aromas of pineapple, golden apple and jasmine reveal notes of peaches and cream. A rounded palate brings layers of honeydew melon, citrus, pear and rose hip with alluring accents of vanilla. Bright acidity extends into a balanced, mouthwatering finish.
