Wine Review: This pitch-black colored Cabernet Sauvignon from DAOU opens with a blackberry jam bouquet with hints of boysenberry and moist pipe tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated moderate plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and concentrated. The flavor profile is a stewed black plum and extracted blackberry blend with notes of dark chocolate and toasted oak. We also detected hints of tobacco, espresso, and dates. The finish is dry, and its moderate dusty tannins build-up and stick around for quite some time. This Cab can be enjoyed as the weather gets colder on its own by the fireplace. With food, pair it with a grilled hanger steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
