Wine Review: This translucent and pale straw colored Sauvignon Blanc from DAOU opens with a tropical papaya and pineapple bouquet with hints of Anjou pear and ginger ale. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and very fresh. The flavor profile is gentle lime and stone dust blend with notes of green tea and saline. I also detected hints of quince. The finish is dry and refreshing. This versatile Sauvignon Blanc would pair well with broiled sea scallops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2022 DAOU "Estate" Sauvignon Blanc represents the lighter side of Bordeaux varieties grown on DAOU Mountain. A pale straw hue reveals hints of green at the core. The nose presents pitch-perfect varietal aromas of wet stone, guava, honeydew melon, grapefruit, lemongrass, and basil leaf. Flavors of peach, apricot, passionfruit, lemon zest and key lime pie unfold along brisk, mouthwatering textures. Juicy acidity is enfolded into a generously persistent finish.
