Wine Review: This golden yellow colored Chardonnay opens with a French oak and grilled pineapple bouquet with hints of lemon pie and vanilla. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with nicely integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is well balanced, silky, and rich. The flavor profile is a complex blend of oak, pineapple cake, and vanilla with notes of banana and honeydew melon. We also detected a hint of butterscotch. The finish is dry, and its flavors linger and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel drink this Chard on its own with California Chard lovers. With food, we would pair it with lobster bisque or seared scallops in butter. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The 2020 DAOU Estate Chardonnay showcases how the Chardonnay varietal is brilliantly expressed on DAOU Mountain. Now that the vines are maturing, there is a deep level of minerality that emerges from the glass, accompanied by notes of white blossom, yellow apple, lemon peel and stone fruit. An expansive palate shows tremendous texture and depth of flavor. This perfectly structured Chardonnay promises to evolve beautifully in the bottle.
