Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Malbec based wine opens with tomato leaf and black raspberry bouquet with hint of old barn wood. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and savory. The flavor profile is a tart red plum and green olive blend with notes of red currant and graphite. We also detected hints of green peppercorns, green tea, and craisin. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins linger and last for a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this red blend with baked stuffed red peppers or chicken marbella. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Cuvée Lizzy is a classic Bordeaux-style blend from the terroir of DAOU Mountain. Dark and intensely hued, the 2020 vintage explodes from the glass with aromas of violets, lilac, cigar box and black fruit. On the palate, it is full bodied and highly textural, accompanied by mineral undertones that reflect the mountains coveted calcareous clay soils. Exuding both structure and elegance, this wine finishes with silky, velvety tannins that allow it to show beautifully in its youth while delivering huge aging potential.
