Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored Malbec opens with a black cherry, black plum and lilac bouquet with hints sage, blueberry, and a touch of maple syrup. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with nicely integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is smooth, silky, and extremely well-balanced. The flavor profile blueberry and graphite blend with notes of blackberry, spice, and black tea. We also detected hints of black plum and chalky minerality in the mix. The finish is dry, and its refined and integrated dusty tannins linger and last for a very long time. The Panel would pair this Malbec with braised short ribs. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2019 DAOU Estate Malbec is intense, floral, and elegant—a unique balance of qualities rooted in DAOU Mountain's terroir. Co-fermented with 10 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine presents a deep ruby-purple color with a floral bouquet and abundant blue fruit aromas. Crushed blue and black fruits as well as licorice and graphite explode out of the glass and across the palate. Lush and perfectly ripened, this Malbec is built for the long haul and will reward careful cellaring for years to come.
