Wine Review: This deep purple colored Cabernet Franc offering from DAOU opens with a gentle strawberry and red raspberry bouquet with hints of black cherry and light leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. We also found it to be balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a mulberry, graphite and red plum blend with hints of oolong tea and a touch of cocoa. The finish is dry and its well-managed mild tannins make their presence know but do not get in the way at all. The Panel would let this wine breath for just a little while and then pair it with a ribeye steak or with a wild boar ragu over pasta. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This wine is one of our most anticipated and coveted wines of the year. A blend of mostly Cabernet Franc along with some Merlot. It is decadent, rich, and opulent while illustrating wonderful spices that are typical to the Cabernet Franc varietal. On the palate, the wine offers enormous flavors of black raspberry, blueberry, chocolate and black plums.
