Wine Review: This pitch-black colored Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a fragrant black currant, lilac, and wet stone bouquet with hints of black raspberry and spearmint. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a black currant and steely minerality blend with notes of black plum and spearmint. We also detected hints of loam and black tea mixed in. The finish is dry, and its moderate supple tannins are nicely extended. The Panel would pair this Cab with a New York strip steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The DAOU Family Cuvée is a powerful blend that exemplifies the Paso Robles region’s excellence with classic Bordeaux varieties. The signatures of this wine are an opaque purple color, toasted oak aromatics and explosive richness on the palate. An extraordinary purity of fruit is marked by flavors of crème de cassis, black currant, licorice and ash with toasty vanilla undertones. The result is a full-bodied cuvée whose tannin structure will sustain decades of aging while remaining fresh and elegant in the bottle. (This wine is only available at Cosco)
