Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Napa Cabernet opens with an inviting black currant bouquet. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied, balanced, and very juicy. The flavor profile is black currant with notes of plum, black pepper, black licorice, and old oak. The finish is dry and its moderate oak tannins linger nicely. This wine would pair well with Theresa's meatloaf. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The D. R. Stephens Estate 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, DRII shows spicy floral aromatics with complex fruit and deep intensity. The palate is lush and charming with round tannins adding structure to the rich flavors of cassis, raspberry, clove, allspice and chocolate. On the finish, the wine displays great energy with floral nuance and elegant length.
