Wine Review: This slightly opaque dark ruby colored Cab from Napa was quite impressive. It opens with a spicy black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is red currant and black cherry with lots of spice, coffee, and dark chocolate. It is a pretty complex Cab. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are rather lengthy. Our mini group of tasters thought this wine would be perfect with a filet mignon. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The Walther River Block displays the slightly cooler climate of Rutherford with its dark garnet color and intense, cherry/raspberry-focused aromas. The nose indicates the same combination of heritage and sophistication as the Moose Valley, but with a lovely emphasis on fresh dark berries, combined with a hint of dark, slightly caramelized oak and just a touch of sweet earth. Full and round at entry, the palate shows the same satiny, melted-chocolate texture as the Moose Valley, with a similar degree of ripeness and the same emphasis on soft, juicy fruit expression as the finish lingers. Only a very select few vines were used for this extremely limited single-vineyard bottling.
