Wine Review: The Garden of Extraordinary Delights is slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Syrah. It opens with a mild blueberry and black cherry bouquet with a hint of wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, juicy and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a unique gentle cranberry with hints of minerality, strawberry rhubarb, and red raspberry. The finish is dry and its rather dry tannins are sticky. The panel suggested that this was a nice Syrah to enjoy fireside with sharp cheddar cheese and green apple or a turkey and stuffing sandwich. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: A very dark, vibrant, polished appearance with a dense red crimson hue. Beautiful dark purple plums and floral notes of violets on the nose. Underneath there are exotic tones of compost and decomposing vegetables but in the most intriguing of ways. In the mouth, the deep plum and violet characters dance lightly across your palate and are joined by other floral notes, and black olives with edges of dried garden herbs . Sage features strongly amongst the mix. There is an interesting wood character that is provided by the vines rather than the barreling process in the winery. Solid, gutsy tannins with dense minerality roll out to the long, persistent finish.
