Wine Review: This ruby colored Zinfandel from Paso Robles is Very Good. It opens with a fragrant black raspberry bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a ripe blackberry with notes of black raspberry, black licorice and hints of oak and blueberry. The finish is dry and its flavors last for quite a while. I would pair this very nice Zin with a pulled pork sandwich. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A blend of three of the top West Side Vineyards in Paso Robles. The Dusi Vineyard, Preston Vineyard & Seven Oxen Vineyard. "The Best Of the West" play seamlessly together and become something more than they are as individuals. On the Nose: Raspberry, cranberry, & rhubarb laced with nutmeg and exotic spice with hints of vanilla oak. On the Palate: Rich raspberry fruit with bright acidity dances with cranberry, rhubarb & exotic spice. The big sexy mouthfeel is accented with grippy tannins that weave through the surprising massive structure. Generous red & black fruit run long on the palate and trail into a dried herb and subtle vanilla oak finish. "Like getting spanked with a velvet glove."
