Wine Review: This medium garnet colored Pinot Noir from Cuvaison opens with an oak and black cherry bouquet with hints of black tea, black raspberry, and teaberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, lush, and fresh. The flavor profile is very tasty crushed stone and red licorice blend with notes of black cherry and wild strawberry. We also detected hints of black pepper, blueberry, and spice. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would then pair this Pinot with a spice rubbed pork roast or with a grilled lamb chop. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The ultimate expression of our higher elevation Pinot Noir, this wine is a limited barrel selection, crafted from the grapes sourced atop the upper reaches of each vineyard block. Here, the unique marriage of terroir and microclimate nurtures exceptional fruit concentration. The wine reveals layers of dense black cherry and blueberry, accented with hints of sage and wild fennel. On the palate, vibrant notes of raspberry and pomegranate shine through, accented by the wine’s velvety texture and seamlessly integrated tannins, culminating in a lingering, satisfying finish.
