Wine Review: This pale gold colored Chardonnay from Cuvaison opens with a fragrant oak and poached Bartlet pear bouquet with hints of pineapple, lychee, lemon balm, and jasmine. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated moderate acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and textured. The flavor profile is very tasty, toasted oak and Bartlett pear blend with notes of butter and pineapple. We also detected some hints of yeast, white peach and almond. The finish is dry, and its flavors are nicely extended. The Tasting Panel would pair this Chard with lobster bisque or with Pam’s macaroons. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Our initial harvest each year is dedicated to "Kite Tail" Chardonnay. Crafted from Old Wente clone grapes, this wine captures the vibrant acidity and abundant flavors that are a signature of our cool climate Estate, Tai Vineyard. A well-defined architecture supports complex layers of flavor, that unfold to reveal refreshing notes of apricot, green apple, nectarine, and lemon chiffon. This wine’s flinty character and minerally undertones are balanced by its fine depth and style, carrying through to an elegantly prolonged finish.
