Wine Review: This pale gold-colored Chardonnay from Cuvaison opens with a poached pear, butterscotch, and mild banana bouquet with hints of lemon custard, mango, oak, and pineapple. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and creamy. The flavor profile is mild pineapple and banana blend with notes of chalky minerality and ripe Bartlett pear. We also detected some hints of almond, chai tea, and gentle oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would then pair this Chard with Lucia's Pollo e Zucca di Zucca aka sauteed chicken with butternut squash ravioli simmered in a parmesan cheese, and chiffonade fresh sage cream sauce or with a homemade chicken pot pie. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2022 Estate Chardonnay is fragrant with aromas of ginger, Meyer lemon, and subtle marzipan, complemented by a hint of pie crust, the wine offers vibrant citrus tones on the palate, mingling with crisp Granny Smith apple, peach, apricot, honeydew melon, and fresh pear. Embracing its fruit-forward nature, this Chardonnay boasts a well-rounded character and finishes with a refreshing, evocative hint of cool ocean breeze.
