Wine Review: This dark red colored red blend from California reminded me of a light-styled Beaujolais and Gamay grapes. It opens with a fragrant cinnamon gum and lingonberry bouquet with hints of red plum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and juicy. The flavor profile is a strawberry Bubble Yum gum and gentle red raspberry blend with notes of lingonberry. I also detected some hints of loam and craisin in the after taste. The finish is dry and its flavors and very fine tannins drift away nicely. This wine would pair well with fresh tuna sashimi. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A departure from our previous blends, there is no dominant variety. Valdiguié now shares the table with Carignan, Petite Sirah, Mixed Reds, and Syrah. The nose is incredible, with violets, and darker red fruits. It is earthier and less green than previous iterations, more minty than sappy, and more cherry than raspberry. The palate is deeply savory with grilled notes and a bright acidity. The finish is clean and simple with more refined tannins.
