Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Crossbarn opens with a pomegranate and dried strawberry bouquet with hints of black licorice, rose petals, and black pepper. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, smooth, fresh, and lively. The flavor profile is stewed black plum and black pepper blend with notes of oak and pomegranate. I also detected hints of clove, loam, and black raspberry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins are nicely extended. I would pair this Pinot Noir with a strip steak au poivre. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Brilliant, deep ruby red in color, the 2022 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir opens with aromas of pomegranate, cranberry, and crisp red apple skin, perfumed with hints of delicate florals and forest floor. Harmonious layers of plum, raspberry, and Morello cherry lift the well-focused palate, while bright acidity and fine-grained tannins add tension to the long, refreshing finish. Pair with a pizza with sausage and mushrooms or with a five-spice braised pork shoulder.
