Wine Review: This dark ruby Cabernet from Crossbarn opens with a red currant and red cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, smooth and very approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty cherry and blueberry blend with subtle hints of milk chocolate and oak. The finish is dry and its mild tannins drift away nicely. While this Cab is not overly complex, it is very likeable and shows nice finesse. It will not last long. Serve it in the near term with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Presenting an opaque purple color and expressive aromas of red currant, ripe blackberry, and mocha, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals the complexity and diversity of the famed region. Layers of fresh blueberry, dried leaf, and cardamom spice emerge on the palate alongside graphite and notes of minerality. Polished tannins and a round mouthfeel evolve into a long, energetic finish.
