Wine Review: This medium red colored Pinot Noir from Cristom opens with a blackberry and mild dried strawberry bouquet with hints of cinnamon and black cherry, nutmeg, and tobacco leaf. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is very nicely balanced, silky, delicate, and seamless. The flavor profile is a marionberry and stone dust blend with notes of gentle dried strawberry and sautéed mushrooms. We also detected hints of red currant, cedar, and a touch of peach tea in the mix. The finish is dry and its refined light tannins build-up slightly and are nicely sustained. We would pair this Pinot with sautéed veal medallions in creamy mushroom sauce or with ground lamb and fresh mint burgers. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Floral, umami, and savory characters of rose petals, shiitake mushrooms, and charcuterie intermingle with crunchy cherry and strawberry rhubarb. Firm, textural tannins and fresh acidity lead to a persistent finish.
