Wine Review: This pale ruby colored Pinot Noir from Cristom opens with a mild blood orange and clove bouquet with hints of cinnamon, mocha, cedar, and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with very nice integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced and silky smooth. The flavor profile is a smoky oak, cherry, and red licorice blend with notes dusty minerality and oolong tea. We also detected some hints of clove and nutmeg. The finish is dry and its flavors and dusty tannins drift away nicely. This Pinot benefits from some aeration. The Tasting Panel would decant this Pinot for a bit and then pair it with beef bourguignon or shrimp and grits. Enjoy – KWGTP
