Wine Review: This red dark ruby colored Merlot opens with a mild black currant and blueberry bouquet with hints of cherry, violets, and a touch of espresso. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a mild black currant and blackberry blend with notes of graphite, black olive, and mild cherry. I also detected hints of oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors and dusty tannins linger and last for a while. This Merlot would pair well with a steak pizzaiola open face sandwich. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Intense ruby red with violet reflections. Blackberry jam and sour cherry compote, followed by hints of licorice, dark chocolate and cardamom, with a hint of porcini mushrooms. The medium to full bodied palate gives great intensity of juicy black fruit with soft rounded tannins balanced by excellent freshness. Long and savory finish.
