Wine Review: This pitch black colored Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a black currant and black licorice like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a rich mild black cherry and oak blend with notes of nicely integrated minerality. I also detected hints of cola and a touch of black tea and black olive. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate tannins linger nicely. This Cab is ready for food in the near term. Serve with beef wellington. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine has a deep, inky color from the hallmark extraction of the 2013 Vintage. The aromas offer dark red and black berry fruits, wonderfully intertwined with mocha, chocolate and lightly toasted oak. Food Pairing options: Red meats, hearty dishes, dark-chocolate (bitter-sweet), strong-flavored cheeses.
