Wine Review: This pale straw colored Sauvignon Blanc is very good and more like a New Zealand style vs. California. It opens with a fragrant yellow grapefruit bouquet with hints of tangerine. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, acidic, and lively. The flavor profile is ripe yellow grapefruit with notes of minerality and Bosc pear. I also detected a hint of quinine. The finish is dry and very refreshing. This Sauvignon Blanc would pair well with shrimp scampi. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Decidedly in the Pessac-Leognan camp, this Sauvignon Blanc exhibits the signature herbal aromatics of the variety mixed with the light vanilla flavors developed after seven months in French oak barrels. The palate is powerful and lush with the necessary structure to keep the wine refreshing and balanced. As with all of our Sauvignon Blancs, this wine shows beautifully upon release and will continue to evolve and improve with time in the bottle.
