Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Barbera from Coppo is a nice entry level offering. It opens with a musty old oak and mild black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a pomegranate and red plum blend with notes of minerality. I also detected hints of red raspberry and a touch of rhubarb. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. This Barbera would be a good pairing for a Bertucci's Pucillo pizza. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Color: Ruby red Nose: Intense cherry, raspberry and blackberry flavors Taste: Fresh and well balanced Pairings: Salami sandwich, hearty minestrone, small meatballs in tomato sauce and herbed garlic bread.
