Wine Review: This white gold colored White Blend from California opens with a lemon-lime and green apple bouquet with hints of Bosc pear. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and round. The flavor profile is a green apple and almond blend with notes of white peach. I also detected hints of grapefruit pith and saline in the after taste. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This versatile white wine would complement many dishes. Winemaker Notes: Blending wines was almost unthinkable when Conundrum White was born in 1989, launching a trend that continues to this day. Grapes for this blend come from sought-after California AVAs from Napa Valley to Santa Barbara County. While the exact blend is under wraps, every vintage includes Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and Viognier. Conundrum White is amazingly versatile with refreshing stone fruit, juicy pear, a hint of citrus and a dry finish. Best served chilled. Pair with grilled chicken with spicy mango salsa, sea bass, steelhead trout.
