Wine Review: This opaque and very dark crimson colored wine from Conundrum was very popular with the tasters at Colonial Spirits. It opens with a mild cherry and plum bouquet with hints of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is ripe stewed plum with notes of black cherry and oak. I also detected hints of pomegranate and black pepper with a hint of anise. The finish is dry and its fruit and very mild tannins fade away nicely. I would pair this very good red blend with barbecue steak tips. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A deep purple hue color. This wine features alluring aromas of berry pie, vanilla, sweet tobacco and brown spice. It is plush and velvety upon entry, with flavors of German chocolate and dark plums. The texture is soft and granular like fine cocoa powder. Round wood tannins add structure as well as smoothness. Balanced, rich and refined. Be bold and serve slightly chilled.
