Wine Review: This Sauvignon Blanc from Chile was one of the panel's favorite choices at our first big blind tasting. It is also a steal at $15. We found it to be pale straw colored and opens with a mild green pepper, wet stone and gentle lemon bouquet with a hint of pineapple. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, crisp and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a mild grapefruit with notes of white pepper and lime. I also detected a hint of green apple. The finish is dry and its flavors linger for a while after the wine is gone. The panel suggested that this wine would pair well with bacon wrapped scallops or a lobster salad roll. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The strong Pacific Ocean influence and red clayish soils concur to foster this refreshing, crisp, pale yellow-green wine. In nose, fine citric notes of grapefruit combine with green apples and white peaches. It’s a fresh and delicate Sauvignon Blanc, with a crisp and balanced mouth and a very pleasant minerality. Serve chilled as an aperitif or to complement salads, seafood, sushi and light hors d'oeuvres.
