Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Carmenere from Chile opens with a fragrant black cherry and blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty black olive and blueberry blend with notes of vanilla oak. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are very sticky. I would pair this reasonably priced Carmenere with a grilled strip steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep, dark red with lush aromas of cherries, blackcurrants, blackberries, cedar and a bit of black and white pepper. Smooth and silky on the palate with so tannins. Tight and focused with deeply concentrated flavors that linger on the long finish. Drink now through 2021. Pair with duck magret or confit; meats with sweet-and-sour sauces.
