Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from the Horse Heaven Hills is a very good value. It opens with a musty oak and black cherry cola bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is similar to the nose featuring cherry-cola along with notes of oak and blueberry. I also detected hints of coffee, minerality and a touch of red raspberry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for a while. This Cab is very easy to drink and is food friendly. I would pair it with a sautéed mushroom and Swiss cheese burger. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This bold Cabernet opens with flavors of black cherries and blackberries with a touch of currants and vanilla, complemented by earth and mineral notes. Deep berry flavors lead to a soft tannin cocoa finish. Pair with pasta Bolognese, braised lamb shank and beef pot roast.
